Your Personal Code of Conduct

As John Mellencamp said, “You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.”

This article discusses the importance of a personal code of conduct — the things for which you stand and will not compromise.

These are compelling ideas which you should consider when thinking about how you want to live your life.  There are three that really tie into my personal code of conduct..

  • Be consistent in all you say and do.
  • Make all the small things count.
  • Do what’s right, even if no one is watching

To me, these three are part of a greater whole.  When you’re consistent, you do your very best in everything you do — no matter how big or small, how important or inconsequential.  You also act in an ethical manner.  You do what’s right, even if no one will know if you don’t.

The ideas above are part of my personal code of conduct.  They have served me well over the years?  What makes the list in your personal code of conduct?  Please take a minute and share your thoughts with us by leaving a comment in the space below.
