What Not to Say in an Interview

An interview is a time to strut your stuff and to demonstrate why you are the exact perfect candidate for the job.  That’s a good thing.  But it can also create a lot of stress.  I always advise my career mentoring clients to do a lot of interview prep — including practicing answers — out loud — to questions you anticipate being asked.

During your practice, if you hear yourself using any of the 30 phrases in the article below start over and come up with a better answer.

When I first saw this article I thought, “30 phrase, wow, that’s a lot.”  But as I was read it, I realized that I have heard all of them when I was a hiring manager.

Do yourself a favor, read the article and make sure you eliminate the 30 phrases from your interview answers.
