Did you see the Dallas – Miami basketball game last night? If you’re not a basketball fan, Dallas and Miami are playing for the NBA Championship. It was quite a game and one in which I found some career success advice.
The game was played in Miami, in front of a loud home town crowd. Miami was winning 88 – 73 with about seven minutes to play. Dallas won 95 – 93. They scored 22 points to Miami’s five in the last seven minutes of the game. They even survived a monumental defensive lapse that let …

For me, the Memorial Day weekend is more than a US holiday and the unofficial start of summer. Memorial Day weekend is always the middle weekend of the French Open — one of the four tennis majors. One of the biggest upsets so far this year was Kim Clijsters loss in the second round to Arantxa Rus, the 114th ranked player in the world. …

I saw a great tweet the other day – “Smiling is environmentally friendly.” It reminded me of one of my favorite quotes from Mother Teresa, “Peace begins with a smile.” There is great career advice in this tweet and this quote.

It’s been a depressing few weeks – for me at least.

The first week of 2011 is almost history. Hope is was productive for you and brought you closer to the life and career success you want and deserve.
Last Friday (New Year’s Eve) one of my friends who reads my career advice and knows I am an incurable optimist repeated something that he had seen on line…
An optimist stays up to welcome the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year goes out.
I admit that I have had a few years (but not too many) that I was happy to see …

While this is a career advice blog, I cover a variety of topics. Sports can teach us many life and career success lessons. So today, I want to discuss an NFL game that happened last night.
If you read this blog with any regularity, you know that I’m a Pittsburgh guy, a big American Football fan and an even bigger Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Last night, the Steelers played the Baltimore Ravens. It was a tough, brutal game.
The Ravens broke Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger’s nose the first time the Steelers had the ball. The report from the …
