Success is a Habit

The word “habit” has popped up in my world a lot lately.  I was doing an interview for my membership site with David McMurtry on career success the other day and he started talking about positive habits.  That same day I did a webinar for Career HMO and got several questions about the importance of positive habits.  Then I came across this article.  So I had to write about habits.

It’s true, successful people have powerful and positive habits.  These nine are pretty good ones to develop.

Stephen Covey’s famous book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People highlights other important habits to develop.

  1. Be Proactive
  2. Begin With the End in Mind
  3. Put First Things First
  4. Think Win-Win
  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the Saw

The point here is that positive habits will help you create the life and career success you deserve.  Work with the nine in the article, or with Stephen Covey’s seven.  Or come up with your own.  Just identify positive habits that will help you succeed and then build them.
