DailyFeats for Career Success

I found a very cool site on a recent Monster Blog post.  It’s called DailyFeats.  Go to http://www.dailyfeats.com and sign up.  You’ll be taking advantage of the career advice in Tweet 49 in my career success book Success Tweets if you do.  “Surround yourself with positive people.  Hold them close.  They will give you energy and help you create the career success you deserve.”

DailyFeats is the online social platform where people share their positive actions — their feats. They suggest hundreds of feats you can perform, small things like eating more fruits and veggies or staying up on the news.  DailyFeats suggest a whole lot of things that are good for your body, mind, home and community. You get points for performing a feat.  You can redeem these points for rewards ranging from discounts at restaurants and stores in your neighborhood, to savings on national brands.

The rewards are nice, but to me they are not the really important thing about DailyFeats.  DailyFeats is a community where people share things about which they are proud.  For example, on Friday I shared a feat – I got my taxes done on time, with a new accountant.  This may not sound like much to you, but it was a feat for me.

My accountant of 20 years retired.  I had to find a new accountant.  She is great, but much more detailed and into documentation than my previous guy.  And, I’ve been traveling a lot lately, making it difficult to do the work necessary to provide my new accountant with all of the information she wanted.  But I got it all done – so I shared it on DailyFeats.

Other people share things like how much they exercised, the weight they lost, volunteering at an art show, having dinner with their family, helping students prepare letters to their senator.  You get the idea.  Some of these things are small, and might not count as a feat in your book – some are pretty big deals.

Regardless, the people in the DailyFeats online community are sharing things that they did that are important to them.  They are positive.  DailyFeats is a positive community.  And as Tweet 49 in Success Tweets says – it’s important to surround yourself with positive people.

Successful people surround themselves with positive people – people who are both positive by nature, and positive about their life and career success.  Positive people are optimistic; and as I suggest in Tweet 44 in Success Tweets optimism is the first step in building your self-confidence and life and career success.  The people at DailyFeats are positive.  That’s why I think it is a great site to join and participate.  You’ll be hanging around with positive people.

Positive people help you feel good about yourself, because they feel good about themselves – and life in general.  They help you build your self-esteem because they have a strong sense of self-esteem.  Positive people are there when you begin to doubt yourself.  They are not threatened by you or your success.  They realize that self-esteem is not a fixed pie.  There is an unlimited amount of it to go around, so positive people are always giving it away.  You will build your self-confidence and your life and career success when you spend your time with upbeat, positive people.

A quick tour of the DailyFeats site will show you that the positive people there feel good about themselves for doing what some might consider to be some mundane things.  No matter.  They are sharing the things that help them feel good about themselves.  That makes them positive people in my book – and we all need as many positive people in our lives as we can get.

The common sense career success coach point here is simple.  No one can go it alone.  Follow the career advice in Tweet 49 in Success Tweets.  “Surround yourself with positive people.  Hold them close.  They will give you energy and help you create the career success you deserve.”  Positive people are great.  They feel good about themselves and life in general.  They are enthusiastic – and their enthusiasm is contagious.  When you surround yourself with positive people, you’ll become more positive and enthusiastic.  And, you’ll be on your way to creating the life and career success you want and deserve.

Who are the most positive people you know?  Get to know them better, spend more time with them.  Check out DailyFeats.  You’ll find a lot of positive people there.  Sign up and share the positive things you do every day.  You’ll be helping yourself and others create the life and career success we all want and deserve.

That’s my career advice on surrounding yourself with positive people – and DailyFeats as a great place to find positive people.  Check out DailyFeats and let us know what you think.  Please leave a comment sharing some of the feats you share.  As always, thanks for reading my daily musings on life and career success.  I value you and I appreciate you.
