Confidence is one of the 4 Cs that make up my Career Success GPS System.  The other three Cs are clarity, commitment and competence.  In yesterday’s post I mentioned that I have a new book that will be out shortly.  It’s called Success Tweets: 140 Bits of Common Sense Career Success Advice Delivered in 140 Characters or Less.  This book is part of my work as a career success coach.  It’s just another way of explaining my thoughts on what it takes to become a career success.  Today, I’d like to share a tweet from the …

Relationship building is an important competency in building your career success.  As a career success coach I always advise my clients to build strong mutually beneficial relationships with the important people in their lives.
In the Wall Street Journal Sunday, Alexandra Levit made the same point in her “Reinvent” column entitled Grandma Was Right.  She makes several helpful suggestions for building strong relationships…

Jim Collins is on the cover of the April 2010 SUCCESS Magazine.  He is the author of Good to Great and How the Mighty Fail.  In my book, he’s a thought leader.  Since I’m a career success coach, and he writes about success, I pay attention.  By the way, the April issue of SUCCESS is terrific.  The folks at SUCCESS just keep getting better.  If you’re not already a subscriber, I suggest you go to www.Success.com and subscribe as soon as you finish reading this post.  Trust me on this one.  I am after all, …

As a career success coach, I urge my clients to build strong relationships with the people in their life – to make friends.  Cindy Yantis has become a friend of mine.  She is a career architect, helping people build careers they love.   Our friendship started when I responded to a query she posted asking for advice on personal branding for her blog.
Her query resulted in a dynamite blog post called 50 Seriously Greats Tips to Elevate Your Personal Brand in 2010.  It had some really great common sense career success advice.  I liked her lengthy …

I have a great partnership with the folks at the Walk the Talk Company.  They have published three of my books, and will be releasing a fourth, Common Sense Ideas for Building a Dream Team in July.   I am on the WTT email list.  Yesterday they sent a great quote.  It’s a point I often make as a career success coach…
“Coming to terms with the parts of a change that you cannot control is critical to being successful.”
As a career success coach, I often tell my clients that the stuff that happens to you isn’t …

I saw a great quote from John Ruskin, a late 19th century English essayist the other day…
“When a man is wrapped up in himself, he makes a pretty small package.”
If you read this blog with any regularity, you know that I am a career success coach and author.  You also probably know that I believe that relationship building is one of the key competencies necessary for career success.  I discuss it in several of my books: Straight Talk for Success; Your Success GPS; I Want YOU…To Succeed; Star Power; and 42 Rules To Jumpstart Your …
